Bear Hunts in Alberta Canada
Alberta Bush Adventures offers spring and fall black bear
hunting. Each season, monster black bears are taken in our
camps with the top end in the 7.5 foot plus 500 pound range
as well as smaller bears. Our success on black bear is around
160% as Alberta has a two bear limit. We stress that hunters
should try and harvest a quality black bear rather than two
small bears.
Baiting black
bear is allowed in Alberta as well as spot and stalk hunting.
Both methods of hunting black bear can be very exciting and
productive. We hunt over active baited stands with permanent
tree stands with ground blinds sometimes used. A portable
stand may be used to take advantage of a good opportunity
at a quality black bear.
Bowhunting for black bear in Northern Alberta can be quite
productive. A hunter needs to be patient and selective in
order to obtain a quality black bear in the Pope & Young
Class. Length of shots average about 15 to 20 yards for bow
hunters and 20 to 100 yards for rifle hunters

This camp is near our home in the Peace River area. The Peace
River Camp in Northern Alberta offers excellent opportunities
for anyone looking for a trophy black bear. This camp is predominantly
mixed farmland and bush. This area produces large bears and
it boasts some of the best colored bears anywhere. An average
25% of the bears range from blond to cinnamon to dark brown.

Our bush camps are as comfortable as any considering the remoteness.
Our sleeping tents have wooden frames, wood heaters and cots
with two hunters per tent. The camp consists of canvas tents,
with a large tent being the cooking and dining area. The cook
tent also has a wooden frame and floor. A cook is on staff full
time to prepare meals and keep the camp orderly. The meals are
top quality grub and there is plenty.
