Peace River Camp and Rainbow Lake Camp Alberta Canada
Black Bear, Moose, Whitetail and Waterfowl Hunting
Peace
River Camp (McLennan)
We hunt spring black bear, waterfowl and whitetail deer from this
camp. Situated in the boreal forest of north western Alberta, approximately
250 miles from Edmonton, where the agriculture and the wilderness
meet. Large tracks of grain and hay fields to the south & west
and big bush to the north & east make this excellent hunting
area. The country is very flat with creeks, rivers and lakes scattered
throughout. The forests are treed mostly with poplar, spruce, pine,
willow and birch. Peace River camp offers a comfortable log cabin
sleeping facility for the hunters. All meals are enjoyed in our
home with our family - except for lunch which may be eaten in the
field.

Rainbow Lake Camp:
We hunt black bears both spring and fall and moose from this camp.
This area is heavily wooded with large tracks of forests and no agriculture
for many miles. Mixed spruce, aspen, pine, willows and alder make
up the forest cover. Lakes and creeks cut through the country as well
as muskeg swamps. Camp is located approximately 300 miles north of
our Peace River (McLennan) Camp. The topography is fairly flat with
some rolling hills near the lakes and rivers. Oil company activity
in the region has allowed us the opportunity to explore this dense
land.
Our bush camps are as comfortable as any considering the remoteness.
Our sleeping tents have wooden frames, wood heaters and cots with
two hunters per tent. The camp consists of canvas tents, with a large
tent being the cooking and dining area. The cook tent also has a wooden
frame and floor. A cook is on staff full time to prepare meals and
keep the camp orderly. The meals are top quality grub and there is
plenty. The cooking
and dining tent is also framed and has a floor.
The Rainbow Lake camp has a generator to power lights, charge batteries,
etc. We also boast a shower house which has a hot water tank and a
small pressure system with hot and cold running water. A hot shower
can be very refreshing after a hard day of moose hunting and/or black
bear hunting.
